 The Inza district

Information about the district

Population -37.7 thousand. ppl.

Area: 2020 square km (5.3% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

It stretches for 100 km from north to south – and 80 km from west to east.

It shares borders with the districts of Bazarny Syzgan, Veshkayma, Karsun and the Ulyanovsk region, as well as the Penza Region and the Republic of Mordovia.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Maina district

Population - 28.9 thousand people.

Area: 2306 square km (6.1% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

It shares borders with the districts of Barysh, Veshkayma, Karsun, Kuzovatovo, Surskoe, Terenga, Tsilna and Ulyanovsk of the Ulyanovsk region, as well as with the Republic of Tatarstan.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Staraya Kulatka district

Population - 16.4 thousand people.

Area: 1178 square km (3% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

The Staraya Kulatka district is located in the south of the Ulyanovsk region. It borders in the north with the Nikolaevsky district, in the west with the Pavlovsky district, in the east - with the district of Radischevo, in the south – with the Saratov Region.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Surskoe district

Population - 19.8 thousand people.

Area: 1688 square km (4.4% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

It shares borders with the districts of Karsun, Maina of the Ulyanovsk region, as well as the republics of Mordovia, Chuvashia and Tatarstan.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The district of Barysh

Population - 46 thousand people.

Area: 2256 square km (6.3% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

It shares borders with the districts of Bazarny Syzgan, Veshkayma, Maina, Nikolaevka and Kuzovatovo of the Ulyanovsk region, as well as with the Penza region.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The district of Kuzovatovo

Population - 26.9 thousand people.

Area: 2105 square km (5.5% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

It shares borders with districts of Barysh, Maina, Nikolaevka, Novospasskoe, Terenga of the Ulyanovsk region, as well as with the Syzran district of the Samara region.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Nikolaevsky district

Population - 29.2 thousand people.

Area: 2084 square km (5.5% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

 It shares borders with the districts of Barysh, Kuzovatovo, Novospassk, Pavlovo, Radishevo and Staroaya Kulatka of the Ulyanovsk region, as well as with the Penza region.

Area: 1756 square km (4.7% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

 The Veshkayma district

Population - 22.0 thousand people.

Area: 1426 square km (3.8% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

Population - 27.4 thousand people.

Area: 1779 sq.km (4.8% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region)

It borders on the north with the Sursky district of the Ulyanovsk region, in the east - with the Maina district of the Ulyanovsk region, in the south – with the Veshkaymsky district of the Ulyanovsk region, in the west - with the Inzensky district of the Ulyanovsk region and with the republic of Mordovia.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Novomalyklinsky district

Population - 16.8 thousand people.

Area: 971 sq. km (2.7% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region)

It shares borders with the Republic of Tatarstan, the Samara region, the Koshkinsky, Melekessky districts of the Ulyanovsk region.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Novospassky district

Population - 23.4 thousand people.

Area: 1299 sq.km (3.5% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region)

It borders in the north with the Kuzovatovsky district of the Ulyanovsk region, in the west - with the Nikolaevsky district of the Ulyanovsk region, in the south - with the Radischevsky district of the Ulyanovsk region, in the east - with the Syzran district of the Samara region.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The district of Radishchevo

Population - 14.8 thousand people.

Area: 1637.4 sq km (4.4% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region)

It shares borders with the Samara region (the Syzran district), the Saratov region (the Khvalynsky district) Novospassky, Starokulatkinsky, Nikolaevsky districts of the Ulyanovsk region.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The district of Sengiley

Population - 25.4 thousand people.

Area - 1349 sq.km. (3.6% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region)

It borders in the north - with the Ulyanovsk region, in the south - with the Samara region, in the west – with the Terengulsky district, in the east it is washed by the Kuibyshev reservoir.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Bazarnosyzgansky district

Population -10.9 thousand.

Area: 825 sq km (2.2% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

Bazarnosyzgansky district is located in the west of the Ulyanovsk region.

From 1935 to 1956 it was an administrative unit.

From 1956 to 1989. It was a part of the Inza district of the Ulyanovsk region. It has become a district again in 1989.

The length of the district:

from north to south - 56 km.

from west to east - 24 km.

It borders by the Penza region (Sosnovoborsky district), the Inzensky, Baryshsky and Veshkaymsky districts of the Ulyanovsk region

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Pavlovo district

Population - 16.1 thousand people.

Area: 1017.6 sq km (2.7% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region)

It borders In the north - with the Nikolaevsky region, in the east with the Starokulatkinsky district of the Ulyanovsk region, in the south - with the Volsky district, in the south-west – with the Baltaysky district of the Saratov district, in the west – with the Neverkinsky district of the Penza region.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Tsilninsky district

Population - 28.3 thousand people.

Area: 1291.5 sq. km. (3.4% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

It borders in the north and west with the Republic of Tatarstan, in the southwest  - with the Maina district, in the east  - with the Ulyanovsky district of the Ulyanovsk region

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Melekessky district

Population - 39.2 thousand people.

Area: 3472.3 sq km (9.3% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

The length of the district from north to south - 85 km; from west to east - 55 km. It shares borders with the Republic of Tatarstan (Spassky and Alkeyevsky districts), the Samara region (Elhovsky, Stavropol districts), Staromaynsky, Novomalyklinsky, Cherdaklinsky districts of the Ulyanovsk region.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Staromaynsky district

Population - 20 thousand people.

Area: 2044 sq.km. (5.5% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region)

It borders on the north-east with the Spassky district of the Republic of Tatarstan, in the east  - with the district of Melekess of the Ulyanovsk region, in the south – with the Cherdaklinsky district of the Ulyanovsk region, on the west - it border on the Kuibyshev reservoir.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Ulyanovsky district

Population - 36.3 thousand people.

Area: 1273 square. km (5% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

The length of the district from north to south - 75 km from west to east - 35 km. It shares borders with the districts of Ulyanovsk Region: Mainskaya, Terengulskim, Tsilninskim, Sengiley

 The district of Cherdakly

The population of the district - 42.6 thousand people.

Area - 2441 sq.km. (6.6% of the territory of the Ulyanovsk region).

Length from north to south - 60 km, from west to east - 60 km.

It shares borders with the Staromaynsky and Melekessky districts of the Ulyanovsk region, the city of Ulyanovsk.
